Soft, light and full of sunshine – this pink sun god painted saree is made for Chhath, the festival of Surya Dev. Hand-painted sun faces in bright yellow and red glow across the baby-pink cotton, alternating with sun-rimmed diya motifs, each one painted individually by hand.
A delicate lace border runs along the edges, giving the saree a soft, feminine finish. The breathable cotton keeps it comfortable through the fast, the evening arghya at the ghat and the long celebrations with family – and its gentle colour makes it just as lovely for pujas, haldi functions and festive gatherings all year round.
Fabric: Cotton. Saree length: 5.5 metres, width: 43–45 inches. Blouse fabric: 1 metre, with minimal artwork on the sleeves and back.
Care: Dry clean only. Iron on the reverse side of the artwork. Hand painting may leave slight traces of colour – the mark of a truly handmade saree.
